Our Story

The Rude Awakening That birthed Mommy Registry

The conception of Mommy Registry began on Oahu in 2011 as I was expecting my first born.

Coming from Malaysia, a place steeped in postpartum care traditions, I couldn’t help but notice the striking absence of resources for postpartum health and wellness in my current community.

I saw childbirth becoming overly commercialized, disconnecting moms from traditional support networks. The postpartum health and well-being of mothers have been distorted, relegated to the bottom of the priority list, labeled as inconvenient, unimportant, and nearly forgotten 🙁

"I LONGED for the nurturing awareness of postpartum care that was deeply ingrained in my upbringing back home."

This ignited a fire within me, and I made a solemn pledge:

“This is not a luxury.
This is a necessity.”

That’s where I began my journey to make this right for mothers.

Inspired to make a change, I started Mommy Registry, a postpartum care service based in Maui. We are excited to be that bridge for modern moms to experience the wisdom of time-tested traditions.

Approximately 1 in 7 women in the United States experiences postpartum depression.

Studies have shown that social support, such as from family and community, can significantly reduce the risk of postpartum depression and improve maternal well-being.
